Description
Capstone research course in the BHSc to be conducted through any one of the basic research departments. Students would be expected to conduct research. Course also involves weekly small group sessions aimed at building research communication skills. Course culminates with submission of a written thesis that is presented and defended in front of a panel of faculty members in an oral examination.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 and one of the following sets:
a) Admission to the Health and Society major; and Health and Society 408 with a minimum grade of "B-".
b) Admission to the Biomedical Science major; and Medical Science 408 with a minimum grade of "B-"; Chemistry 353; and 3 units from Biochemistry 393, 341.
c) Admission to the Bioinformatics major; and Medical Science 408 with a minimum grade of "B-"; and 3 units from Biochemistry 393, 341.
Notes: Course cannot be taken concurrently with Medical Science 402, 417 or 419.
