Description
An introduction to cellular biology and genetics. Major topics include biological macromolecules and structures of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, cellular energetics, DNA structure and the flow of information through DNA replication, transcription, translation, and cell division. Laboratories will explore methods for analyzing biomolecules and the study of cells, with an introduction to data collection and presentation, and scientific writing.
Prerequisite(s): Biology 30 or 212; and Chemistry 30 or 212.
Antirequisite(s): Credit for Biology 211 and 243 will not be allowed.
