Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS) Course-based with Research Component

General Program Information

The Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS), is a course-based program with a research component. The MGIS has a scheduled break in July and August. The program may be completed on a full-or part-time basis. Students can apply for direct entry admission to the MGIS degree or apply to the MGIS via the laddered pathway after completion of the program.


Laddered Pathway from the Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Information Technology to the Master of Geographic Information Systems

Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Information Technology may receive laddering credit for the 12 units of coursework completed in the certificate program if they are subsequently accepted to the Master of Geographic Information Systems within five years of beginning the certificate.
