Description

Macroscopic Maxwell equations. Scalar and vector potentials. Electrostatics and magnetostatics. Dielectric and magnetic properties of materials. Superconductors.

Prerequisite(s): 3 units from Physics 255, 355, 259 or 323; and Mathematics 375 or 376; and Mathematics 367.

Antirequisite(s): Credit for Physics 455 and Electrical Engineering 475 will not be allowed.

Courses may consist of a Lecture, Lab, Tutorial, and/or Seminar. Students will be required to register in each component that is required for the course as indicated in the schedule of classes.
