Description
Foundations of Practice II allows students to delve deeper into the multifaceted aspects that underpin their future roles as healthcare professionals. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the concept of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, critical appraisal of medical literature, the physician assistant role within healthcare, and incorporate ethical considerations in decision making. Students will apply knowledge of advocacy, health equity, social and structural determinants of health, and the needs of marginalized populations as part of the health care team. Students may shadow other healthcare professions or collaborate with various organizations, thereby gaining invaluable real-world insights.
Prerequisites: Medicine, Physicians Assistant 611, 621, 631 and admission to the MPAS program.
