General Program Information

Degrees with an interdisciplinary specialization in Environmental Engineering:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

  • Master of Science (MSc), thesis-based

  • Master of Engineering (MEng), course-based


The Centre for Environmental Engineering Research and Education (CEERE) in the Schulich School of Engineering (SSE) has the overall responsibility for the co-ordination and delivery of a comprehensive postgraduate program specialization in the interdisciplinary field of environmental engineering. All five engineering departments participate in delivering this SSE-wide environmental engineering specialization.

Applications for admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies should be submitted to the engineering department that best matches the applicant’s undergraduate and/or postgraduate academic training.

Note: Students applying to the MEng (course-based) with a specialization in Environmental Engineering must submit their applications to either: a) the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering; or b) the Department of Civil Engineering.
