Major-Field - Specified Courses

Earn at least 39 credits from the following:

1. Literary Fundamentals: 6 units from English 305, 307, 361, 369, 372, 376, 378, 379
2. Literary Theory: 9 units from English 302, 303, 426, 481, 517
3. Literatures in Canada: 3 units from English 372, 466, 471, 473, 509
4. Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour and Diasporic Literatures: 6 units from English 369, 376, 378, 424, 466, 491, 493, 514, 515, including at least 3 units from the 400 level or above
5. Historical Courses pre-1900: 9 units from English 401, 403, 405, 406, 410, 411, 412, 413, 429, 431, 438, 441, 445, 449, 461, 495, 499*, 519*
6. Honours Project: 6 units English 504

*May be used with approval of the Undergraduate Program Director.

English Options: An additional 21 from Courses Constituting the Field of English, including at least 18 units at the 300 level or above, and no more than 6 units in Drama or Linguistics..

Earn at least 21 credits from the following:
Courses Constituting the Field of English

Upper-Year Courses: Inclusive of the courses used to satisfy requirements 2-7 above, 21 units must be from courses labelled English at the 400 level or above, of which at least 12 units must be at the 500 level.
