Completion requirement

For Faculty of Arts Honours Degree requirements, or if completing this program as a Double Major, Combined Degree or Second Degree, refer to:

Complete ALL of the following Requirement Sets:
Completion requirement

Students must successfully complete a minimum of units 60 units to a maximum of 72 units in Courses Constituting the Field of Geography while fulfilling the Program Requirements.

Earn at least 60 credits from the following:

Earn at least 36 credits from the following:

Complete a total of 24 units from Courses Constituting the Field of Geography:

  • Advanced: 9 units at the 500 level from List D

  • Advanced: 6 units at the 500 level from List C

  • Upper-level options: 9 units at the 400 level or above from List B or C or D

Earn at least 24 credits from the following:

Science Requirement

Earn at least 12 credits from the following:

Any senior courses offered by the Faculty of Science and having one of these as a prerequisite may be substituted for a course in this list.

Overlapping Programs

Programs in Geography cannot be taken in conjunction with programs in: Earth Science; Environmental Science or Urban Studies. This restriction applies to Major-plus-Minor combinations, Double Majors, Combined Degrees and Second Baccalaureate Degrees.

Note: The combination of an Arts degree with a BEd cannot be completed with Co-operative Education.
