Embedded Certificate in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language

Language proficiency at the level of Chinese 303 or higher is required. Students who have not completed Chinese 303 will be evaluated using standard placement procedures for Chinese courses.

Students may apply for a change of program to enter the certificate program through their Student Centre. Any undergraduate student is eligible for admission to an Embedded Certificate, unless prohibited by their home faculty. Students are encouraged to discuss their interest in the certificate with the department/faculty offering the certificate prior to starting the certificate. Students’ overall academic progression in their degree program, including academic probation, will be subject to the rules and regulations of their home faculty, as set out in the Calendar.
