3.2.2 Faculty of Social Work - Responsibility for Accuracy of Registration and Program Progression

Students are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their registration and for arranging their course selections to meet all program requirements as detailed in this Calendar.

If registration in any course is contrary to regulations, the Faculty may cancel such registration at any time.

Registration Planning, Progression through the Program and Consultation

Students are expected to comply with the dates and deadlines for registration as set by the University (see B. Registration section of this Calendar) and indicated in the Student Centre and allow sufficient time before these deadlines to plan their registration and consult with Student Services in the Faculty of Social Work (fsw.studentservices@ucalgary.ca).

Students are also strongly encouraged to monitor their Academic Advisement (AA) report, available through the Student Centre, on a regular basis and connect with a student advisor in the Faculty of Social Work, if they have any questions about their report. This is important because a complete program audit is not conducted until the student applies for graduation, at which point any issues could have serious consequences, including denial of graduation.

The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The city of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation within Alberta (including Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6).

The University of Calgary is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
