In addition to Faculty of Graduate Studies admission requirements and Faculty of Science requirements, the Department requires:

a) Normally, a four-year Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. An Honours degree in geology or geophysics, or a field related to geophysics, such as physics or mathematics, is preferred.

b) A concise statement outlining the applicant’s research interests and reasons for wishing to attend the University of Calgary.

c) This program has a requirement to demonstrate English Language Proficiency; see Faculty of Science English Language Proficiency (ELP) Requirements for Graduate Programs for details. 

d) Two reference letters.
