Earn at least 12 credits from the following:

Elective Courses

An additional 6 units from the Field of Geographic Information Science Elective Courses

Earn at least 6 credits from the following:

Field of Geographic Information Science

Enroll in the following Course Lists:

Elective Courses: Geography 567 (or Computer Science 219 or Computer Science 233), 582, 584 (or Geomatics Engineering 435), Geography 585 (or Ecology 425, Statistics 431, or Geomatics Engineering 563), Geography 586, Geography 587, Geography 588 (or Geomatics Engineering 551)

Many of the courses on the list have prerequisites and some may be in high demand. Registration in these courses is not assured. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that prerequisites are completed.

Students can seek permission from the program coordinator to count toward the certificate requirements a pertinent course not included on the list of electives. This applies to a topics course that addresses a relevant topic.

Students are encouraged to participate in international learning opportunities and can apply to the program coordinator to count courses completed in those settings toward the certificate requirements.
