G.3.5 Limitations and Misuse of Deferred Examination Regulations

Students who request multiple deferred examinations may be required to meet with a faculty advisor, after the fourth approved deferred examination request; this is cumulative and applies to all studies pursued at the University of Calgary.

Students may be required to reduce their course load in future terms or participate in exam preparation workshops and may be referred to the Student Success Centre or Student Wellness Centre.

Misuse of the deferred final examination regulation, falsification of documentation, or providing false statements on any submitted documentation for a deferred examination will be considered academic misconduct and is subject to the academic misconduct regulations outlined in section K. Integrity and Conduct of this calendar.

Final Examination Papers

Final examination results are to be retained by the faculty for a period of one year from the last day of the term in which the final exam was held. During this period, students may be permitted to view their graded final examination as determined by the faculty regulations.

Final Grades

Official final grades are available in the Student Centre. For information on official transcripts, see F.5 Transcripts.

Faculty and staff can find additional final examination procedure information at: ucalgary.ca/registrar/faculty-and-staff.

The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (districts 5 and 6).

The University of Calgary is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
